Mentholatum Lip Baby Crayon Lip & Eye Review

7:00 AM

Hi!

I'm going to share about a Japan beauty product, bought from my Hokkaido trip. Others to follow soon, please bear with me as I actually bought a lot of one particular brand. Lol.
Mentholatum Lip Baby Crayon Lip & Eye

Firstly, these babies are not yet available in Malaysia. BUT their predecessor will soon be in our beauty markets. Namely the Mentholatum Lip Baby Crayon, 4 colours in this range.
Source: Hermo website

I've seen some beauty bloggers reviewing them so stay tune to their release. Otherwise, Hermo are selling them (not paid, just in case you are interested to try them out for yourself). I hope the ones that I am reviewing, will be made available as well, as these are really the most convenient.

There are 3 colours to pick from Mentholatum Lip Baby Crayon Lip & Eye, depending on your pigmentation preference. Why? The lighter shades don't come out much so if you want it to be noticeable, you need to pick the darker shade.

Here, I picked out Cotton Pink (コットンピンク) and Bitter Bordeaux (ビッターボルドー). The 3rd is called Trap Pink (トラップピンク). The colour names are using Katakana.

February, my birth month

11:15 PM

Hi!

Yeah, February is my birth month and it’s on the 1st too, by the way. Lol.

Fiancé and I flew off to Hanoi, Vietnam, to specially celebrate it there, accompanied by tag-alongs, his twin brother and their childhood friend, R.

I haven’t compiled the places we visited and since I’m no natural model or shutterbug, it is expected to be a long essay. Forever my style of travel blogging. Coincidentally, I also haven’t started on my Japan trips. Special focus on last year’s Hokkaido trip. That was a gem; their snow crab is a delish!

Also I flunked my JLPT. By a small margin to the passing score. Sigh. I am still considering if I should retake in July or give myself time to prepare until December. I’m still hung up by their Listening, you only have 1 chance to listen then pick your options. Compared that to MUET, you are given 2 chances whereby they repeated. I felt damn nervous that time. Doesn’t help that I spot 3 good looking guys.

Seeing my workload now, there will be less in depth blogging, more like a short diary entry. Product reviews will also be less, only when I am very keen aka I love the product to bits, will I post about it.

Thanks for reading and hope I survive this work until the next new colleague comes in. Expected end of March.

P.s. the current employee is killing me with her slow mind and zero initiative.

Hi!

Are you a fan of individualistic pieces? Or do you own a Pandora or Thomas Sabo?

Firstly, I own none of the above. On the contrary, I have some random indie charms bracelets, bought on a whim. Because A) I just can't justify spending on a piece of jewelry I don't always remember to put on and B) I am so clumsy with my hands, I might as well break the bracelet. #truestory

But one thing I do learn is that, sometimes, price justifies the quality. It's similar to you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Not all cases but lower priced items are easily broken within a few days. Ouch.

Which is why, perhaps, I should get someone to gift me an Original. As a mark of saying I am worth it.

P.S.: I sound as sentimental AF.

Now, don't get me wrong. Pandora is a popular choice, so is Thomas Sabo. Yet, both don't really appeal to me. Let me tell you why.

Pandora seems girlish for me. It has a fair lot of heart shaped charms and pink tones. Their products always look tiny, which I think further pushes the girlish vibes. Erm, I tend to be rough and being girlish isn't my strong feature. So, Pandora has never entice me enough to get it.

Thomas Sabo, on the other hand, seems more my type with its edgier and gothic inspired designs. It also has more designs compared to Pandora. Some argues that the quality is also better. Yet, I restrained myself from purchasing any of it too.

My reason: I don't think I deserve any of it...

My 2017 has been a so-so year. No great achievements to shout out about. Compared to 2018 which I expect to be THE year. If it is, I swear that I will reward myself with a charms bracelet.

Surprisingly, The Butterfly Project introduced Trollbeads this month! Deja vu?

Let's see what this Trollbeads is about.

The story of Trollbeads began in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1976, when Soren “Silversmith” Nielsen created the first Trollbead, Faces. The sterling silver bead, faces, is named for the no less than 6 faces that decorate it. Soren “Silversmith” Nielsen sold the Faces Bead from his father Svend Nielsen’s jewelry shop in Central Copenhagen. The trending fashion at the time of Trollbeads creation was to wear a single silver bead on a leather cord necklace. Instead of hanging the bead from an eyelet, Nielsen placed an opening through the center of the bead. Later his sister, Lise Aagaard, began to place the beads on silver bracelets.

Trollbeads pieces

Lise Aagaard, the founder of Trollbeads, went on to open her own jewelry store. One day a customer asked to place more than one bead on her bracelet. The storekeeper was surprised but added another bead to the customer’s bracelet. This is how the bead-on-bracelet jewelry concept was born.

From the suggestion of one customer, the Trollbeads brand and adventure were created. In cooperation with customers and with their wishes in mind, the collection grew. Today Trollbeads can be found in over 400 cities worldwide.

I've been scouring their website since the introduction and wow oh wow, the pieces are eye-catching. To maintain the originality, the pieces, once passed their era, are no longer reproduced. Hence, you get a one of a kind piece.

Not sure if it is a great idea and yet, you are treasuring that one limited piece, as unique as you are the only individual YOU. *sorry, me being philosophical.

Here's a quick run of the website, followed by the pieces that caught my eyes. *wink

A sample of a Trollbeads bracelet
I see this as a butterfly, wings of a fairy and definitely brings about a feeling of serenity and grace.
Peacock Pearl Oval Drops Pendant
I'm such a sucker for blue hues.

Trolls
This screams unique right at your face.

Dragonfly Beauty Ring
Such details and I also think it looks similar to the dragonfly key in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Remember the trials Harry, Ron and Hermione had to go through? *only fans know what I mean

Foxy Bangle
...funnily, I'm reminded of 'What does the fox say', yeap, I just googled the lyrics.

This will be my pick.

Sometimes you just feel that it's right for you and you can't explain why. It isn't a die-die must get this type of feeling. I am mesmerized by it.

...So if you plan to get me a gift, hint given! Lol.

And no worries, Trollbeads have the Gents in mind too.

Trollbeads Malaysia is available at MidValley, Sunway Pyramid and Vivacity Megamall, Kuching. They have been on the market for more than 40 over years, with over 50 countries around the world. You can also visit their website and social medias below:

Hi!

By now, most people would have settled their 2018 resolutions and made plans to achieve, if not all, most of it. I would say the popular resolutions are Save More Money, Learn a New Skill, Get a New Hobby, Travel More, More Exercise and Eat Better. Phew, that's quite a long list of resolutions. I made mine as simple as possible (refer 2018 blogpost) and will just follow my spontaneous spirit. Lol.

Time to plan!

When The Star and other news tabloids, published the above or in kind, I'm sure many have started planning. I'm one as well. But it's still hard to plan, to find those best deals and to compare which fits the budget. If you are like me, who really just wants to plan it in one setting without the hassle of opening a lot of sites, I might have found our solution here.

2018

11:00 AM

Hi!

2017 as expected had been another so-so year for me. When asked, I would rate it 6.5 on a 1-10 scale, 10 being the-best-year-I-had..which unfortunately, didn't turned out that way. I sound like a total loser. Spare me, I actually had to deal with/put up with some drama last year. Yea...

On a side note, I had an unexpected hair makeover by Number76 Fung.

My best hair colour ever!!
