Respective Winners

Yours Truly
Genre: Romance

I like the description used in this piece. Granted, not many would like this type as it goes long and long, winding never ending until it bores you out. But, if you have the free time, you could actually savor the wide vocabulary used in it. The start is already a good indicator of wide vocab used and it finishes with a deep remark about unrequited love.

The Keys
Genre: Crime

This has the makings of another mystery writer. Love the music relations in this story and the descriptive words used are on point. The ending is also brilliant, sharp and unexpected.

Why didn't I listen?
Genre: General Literary

This piece began quite average, sputtered in the middle and ended with a no brainer. And the number of spelling errors with grammatically wrong sentences, it begs the question of bought votes, as the number of readers' votes are way off, compared to the First and Second Winners. It makes no sense, hence the discontent in the comments.

Remark

The short story contest was good for Malaysians to submit their pieces, in whatever genre they chose. Albeit the word limitation (come on, it is a short story), some stories are worth mentioning. If you're free, you can read up the Top 20 Short Stories, which will be published in Notion Press's upcoming anthology of short stories and distributed worldwide.
