Langkawi: An Island of Adventure / My Overdue Trip Recap

4:30 PM

Hi!

This may be overdue but no place is too ancient except The Lost World of Atlantis (if you can get there la). I visited Langkawi in August last year. Lol. Drafted a post then it got ‘submerged’ under other drafts until I forgot all about it. Wtf, I need to look through all my posts if this can happen once. *I hope once only. >.<”

So, why Langkawi?

Best sunset view? Taken at Cenang Beach #sunsetview

Bf went the previous year with his friend but unluckily for him, it was the rainy season. Like, the beach is there but you don’t want to get wet. From the rain. #logicfail Lol. I decided to book a trip with my BFF.

Here’s the clinch: Both of us didn’t plan anything out. Lol #YOLO

Read more to find out how we managed!

Okay la, we did booked a place (we still need a roof over our heads and a shower), BUT everything else, literally, went with the flow.

No hiccups though; there are lots of references. Googled Langkawi Main Spots to Visit and we were set. Lol.

Underwater World Langkawi

The first place we visited after much consideration. Before we check-in. Lol. #neverflyinmorning #chekinnoon

If you love sea animals or are intrigued by the sea kingdom *cues Little Mermaid , make this place a Must-Visit when you are in Langkawi.

It has more than 500 aquatic creatures including seals, penguins, stingrays, sharks etc.. My favourite were the jellyfish, there is just something majestic with their floating.

Watch the video of it on my IG.

Langkawi Cable Car

Fortunately, we managed to go for this, on the last day, before rushing to the airport. Lol #YOLO

Like, how could we almost missed this? The view was great!

Confession: I wasn’t keen on this, not that I’m a acrophobic but I just prefer to be on hard ground. Thank you very much. Especially, the view while it was climbing up…

The 15 minutes ride to the top of Mount Mat Cincang was kinda okay. Lol. My BFF liked it though. #youheightlover

Being at the 708 metre-tall peak, it was abit unnerving.

By the way, if you’re looking for a place to stay nearby, Berjaya Langkawi Resort might suit your requirements. It’s a five-star hotel that can provide the luxury treatment for your much deserved vacation.  Do check out Traveloka Malaysia as it has great deals on Berjaya Langkawi Resort online

Langkawi Sky Bridge

Remind me never to go with you again, BFF. The sacrifice I’ve made for you. Lol.

125 metres-long, it’s a curved bridge, 700 metres above sea level. Wtf I still can’t believe I was there.

But the view? Okay la, thank you for the experience.

Let’s try ‘sizing’ this? #notsurewhataccomplishmentisthis

From the bridge, can see the magnificent view of Mount Mat Cincang, Telaga Tujuh waterfalls and multiple islets around.

Opens every day except on Sundays.

Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls

If you book Berjaya Langkawi Resort, glad to know it is near this attraction, especially adventure-seeking tourists.

It’s a 45-minute long climb to reach the top of the waterfalls and along the way, you will see the majestic seven pools.

If you’re lucky, you get to see animals like macaques and squirrels roaming around the area. Just, take care, okay?

Gunung Raya

One of Langkawi’s myth, legend has it that the mountain is actually a cursed giant called Mat Raya back in the days.

So, the story goes that there were two giants, Mat Raya and Mat Chincang that had a fallout because of a wedding-gone-wrong that was agreed upon. Due to the fallout, there was a whole lot of destruction and chaos everywhere. For the disturbance, both Mat Raya and Mat Chincang were turned into these two huge mountains; Gunung Raya and Gunung Chincang. Besides the myth, it’s still a good hiking place and a local would be happy to be your guide.

TDLR: Fight, chaos and punishment. #howtocutlongstory Lol

That’s all about my trip. Do let me know if you have visited Langkawi before or planning to.
