IndeedLabs Event at Muse By Watsons X The Butterfly Project

5:30 PM

Hi!

Last month, I was invited to join fellow Butterfly Project's bloggers to an event with Muse By Watsons, Sunway Pyramid.

The event was to introduce IndeedLabs' products, specifically their Hydraluron range.

The Hydraluron range comes with a mask, moisture serum and moist jelly.

We were able to try out the Hydraluron moisture serum which is:

A pure form of hyaluronic acid that holds 1000X its weight in water. Red marine algae for maximum delivery. Restores elasticity. Stimulates cell turnover. It’s your daily dose of moisture that’s anything but routine!
During the event, there was also a skin analysis. Yours truly had good results but there's room for improvements, like please make my skin less oily! Wtf. And those pores... Embarrassing to watch on the laptop screen. :(

It was my first time visiting Muse By Watsons, reason being that I don't hang out at Sunway Pyramid much and second, let me be honest, this store with its wide spaces and neatly arranged products compared to Watsons, it gave me a high-class-expensive-products feel. Lol. When I get that feeling, I avoid because I won't buy and feel bad when the salesperson following me around...

But....

Makeup Island

A very inviting corner

Fragrance lovers!

Another view of the Makeup Island

I spot Too Cool For School, one of me-wanna-try-but-dunwan-be-broke. Wtf.

Skincare there.

Lol. I'm a very disappointing photographer. Wtf.

The interiors were neat, wide spaces and yes, inviting. Lol. Not mistaken, this wasn't their first event in-store. Well, the store is wide enough for a crowd, think there was about 30 people that day.

The skin analysis section

If you wonder what your skin is, do drop by. It's a free consultation. I actually went back to update my analysis and get my sister's skin check as well. More about that later.

The makeover section!

I loved my makeover that day. The makeup artist was on point on what works on my face. She didn't apply too much eyeliner and the mascara was great. She was friendly too and complimented that I have pretty eyebrows and eyelashes. :)

What bloggers brought home to try:
Moisture serum and mask

The mask was reviewed early this year, click here.
Price revised, bought after the event at RM21++.

The moisture serum 30ml

I have been applying the serum close to a month since the event. I do feel that my skin is getting less oily and more moisturized.

The serum is in a jelly-like form and is absorbed fast by the skin. A pea-sized amount should be enough for the whole face and don't forget your neck.

To test out if there are any difference, I decided to visit Muse By Watsons again.

My skin analysis record

The first row was my analysis during the event last month, on 14 Nov. I went back on 5 Dec.

My skin was oilier last month, other aspects were considered manageable.

The second analysis showed that the oily aspect has been greatly reduced. The skin expert explained that it was a good improvement as my skin didn't have to produce much oil anymore to hydrate the skin. It was great to know that, though I have issues with my blocked pores now. Lol. Didn't use my face scrub last week. Wtf.

Muse By Watsons is having promotions now, including for IndeedLabs's Hydraluron range!

Thank you for the invitation, The Butterfly Project!

Sephora Haul

12:30 PM

Hi!

My Sephora Haul!
Finally I decided that I DESERVED this!

So almost no limits haul. Wtf.

I have been using the delay-gratitude tactic whenever I enter Sephora. Previously, I bought their shower gel, Percy and Reed dry shampoo, small, inexpensive stuffs, stuff that wouldn't-hurt-my-purse-much-kinda-stuff. Lol.

But it felt so maddening to look at those cool, pretty, believable-do-wonders-to-your-skin products, as if every single one in that store is in a conspiracy to make me broke. Wtf, dramatic much.

Okay okay, so what's my 'damage'?

RM470.00 (Inclusive GST) Boooooo

Yes, I kid you not, though I think that is still a bearable purchase amount , spent wholly on myself.

For 5 items, including the Sephora calendar. Calendar is free with minimum purchase of RM250.

In pic:
Sephora 2016 Calendar (FREE wth min RM250 purchase)
Bare Minerals Tiny Treasure Gloss (RM85)
Sephora Contouring 101 Face Palette (RM110)

Benefit goodies! Including pouch and two deluxe size products.

Benefit Life of the Party (RM165)

What I wanted to buy from Benefit actually... Lol
Benefit Stay Don't Stray Primer (RM110)

The two deluxe size products when purchase above RM250 of Benefit products.

There are still lots of products in Sephora for this month but I'll stop with this haul.

Wanna look for more products in Sephora? Follow their Facebook page, Sephora.

Plus they are having a Beauty Wishlist Giveaway! Try your luck, who knows if you get lucky and five products for you?

Oh, le bf gave an audible sigh when I told him that I went into Sephora. Lol.

Product reviews will be posted next year! Wtf, already how many weeks left until we hear fireworks.

Thanks for reading.

Movie review

Victor Frankenstein (2015)

10:30 PM

Hi!

This is a bit overdue but the movie is still showing in cinemas, so why not? I do love my movie reviews.

I got my pair of tickets from Nuffnang this time, as usual screening at GSC 1 Utama.

I'll be honest, I left feeling impressed but dissatisfied.

I love the body anatomy reference in the movie, like really, the reborn monster with TWO hearts? Wtf. And I would love to have a tough big size bod, so that people won't dare push me around no more. Lol.

The movie started interesting enough, in my opinion, showing the beginnings of a 'hunchback'. Was I the only one thinking about The Hunchback of Notre Dame? Oh really.... Okay.

Then the hunchback was no more. But that was gross, so gross and sorry, I had no idea even though I do know what pus is. Wtf. Hope you readers are not eating, drinking or tummy full at the moment. Oh wait, I'm purposely reporting the gross part to arouse curiosity so that you go watch. :P

Anyway, listening to the body anatomy, I'm sure medical students or practitioners would like this part. It was amazing actually, since I left Biology in Secondary thank goodness to that, wasn't really fun of it, sucks with remembering terms....

The pair of professor, Victor and 'partner', Igor, formerly the hunchback or Nameless, managed to create life out of a dead animal. Victor, trying to get more sponsors, decided to show off this 'successful' experiment.

Alive, it did became. Dangerous, it was. The creature went mad and caused havoc, prompting Igor to fight with it and together with Victor, they had to make the creature dead, again. Sorry, couldn't resist it! Lol.

However, a rich guy became interested and promised to sponsor their next experiment.

A bigger creature.

Hence the bigger bod and well, just about double the organs.

Which I was lost because I didn't pay enough attention to details. If you love body anatomy, then go watch, maybe you would understand better than me.

Oh did I mention that Igor has a love interest?

Well, the love interest part was what made me felt dissatisfied.

I'll stop here about the movie, I'm just this THIS close to spoiling the movie if you haven't watch. Wtf.

Conclusion, this movie will be good to watch for its body anatomy, what you would expect from a movie about Frankenstein, the creature that came alive and whatever happened to Igor.

P.S.: I have been trying to get myself to read the book but procrastinating....

Thanks for reading!

MPH Bookstore Haul

12:00 PM

Hi!

I love going into bookstores, MPH being my top choice, second Borders and third is Popular. Kinokuniya would have been top with their variety especially the manga collections but sadly, I don't prefer making frequent trips to KLCC. But MPH doesn't disappoint me!

Oh one more choice is BookXcess for their ridiculously affordable prices. If I find what I would like to read. Anyway, can't wait for their Big Bad Wolf Book Sale next week, starting 4th Dec. Yours truly will be going one day earlier, courtesy to a Preview Pass. *evil laugh

Okay, let's start my Bookstore Haul.

Since I shop at bookstores at least more than twice compared to shopping for other stuff i.e. grocery, skincare, make up and etc., I decided why not a bookstore haul. Why not right? Lol.

Wait til I get my own library in my own sweet home then you'll see the amount of books I own right now.

Voila!

My MPH Bookstore Haul

1. MPH 2016 'Colour My World' Calendar

This is an exclusive calendar, whereby 100% of the proceeds will be donated to UNICEF Malaysia to reduce the number of out-of-school children in Malaysia.

Opened it and delighted with the designs, all ready for me to be artistic! Lol

Best part?

Flip the month and a bigger canvas for colouring. Absolutely love this calendar idea from MPH!

This calendar is currently in all MPH outlets (except MPH Bakti Siti Hasmah) and MPH Online with a price of RM15, from now onwards til 31st December 2015.

2. Once Upon a Miao

Confession first: I saw it while browsing in MPH before but I didn't know what to expect from it so I didn't purchase. Imagine my surprise when more and more news about it kept appearing, like purposely tempt me to GET IT. Lol. Okay, the marketing team won. I went to MPH, searching for it, found it and fell in love with it. Damn adorable drawings okay, with funny plots too.

Okay okay, I got 'bribed' with that bookmark. And the cat. Lol.

Retails at RM34.90 in all major bookstores.

Visit the creator on Miao & WafuPafu Comic too!

Book review post soon. :)

3. Stationery

Dear Diary #6

9:30 PM

Dear Diary,

This is a scheduled post to make a gap between my review posts because quite a few are coming up, hopefully before this month ends. Lol.

By the time this post is up, I should be back from watching Victor Frankenstein with le boyfriend at One Utama, courtesy of Nuffnang. Yup, a win from Dayre again. Love my creative answers to their question, at least my creative writing side hasn't died.

Oh one more movie, won from foodpanda on their Instagram, for Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Can't wait for that one.

Anyway, November is fast coming to a close and December beckons. I'm especially looking forward to 15th December but it's a weekday so most likely a weekend date. It will be our 2 years meeting each other, kinda me insisting it as such since we didn't actually acknowledge when did we decided to go steady.

And I digress.

I should be posting up an interesting post about MPH and the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale happening soon but I'll get that next week. Especially MPH because I bought their calendar, (it's gorgeous, following the colouring trend), my 2016 journal/diary/planner/whatever, some colour pens and a book/comic(?) which is being promoted quite a lot by local Instagrammers and I hope to promote it more. #supportlocalbrands Lol

Hmmm, next would be my disastrous shopping therapy at Sephora Midvalley, which I swear was not in my initial shopping list, well, except for the Sephora calendar, which is so beautiful, I just had to get it (with RM250 purchases). Yikes!

I think I did pretty good actually. MPH and Sephora ONLY. Thanks to the crowd plus mostly full restaurants, I was there for approximately 3 hours. Lol

Or because my purchases were heavy and bulky so I wished to go back fast. Maybe that...

Til next time, Dear Diary!

Exploding Kittens: A Review

11:30 AM

Hi!

*Disclaimer: No REAL kittens were, are or in future, involved in the process of this review.

This project started on Kickstarter, an online platform which claims:

Our mission is to help bring creative projects to live.
Creators, be them artists, filmmakers, designers or even authors, post their projects on Kickstarter to get support and resources from just anywhere in the world.

Since our launch, on April 28, 2009, 9.9 million people have backed a project, $2.1 billion has been pledged, and 96,313 projects have been successfully funded.
And this Exploding Kittens is one of those projects, successfully funded, with amazing support.

What's even more amazing?

It's the most-backed project on Kickstarter! -Article link here

Created by Elan Lee + The Oatmeal + Shane Small, it's a card game, with glorious graphics of kittens and unusual game rules.

Here's my video, showing the First Edition deck and NSFW deck:

video
Apologies for low quality :'(

It is said that to learn how to play the game, easiest to watch their tutorial on their website, so here's the link!

P.S: Plus I would like to stop myself from story-telling how-to-play, believe me, it will be almost like a rant lecture. *angelic smile

Photo Gallery

My favourite card from the lot is, hands down, the Nope card. Lol. It's ingenious, I can stop all actions, except Defuse and Exploding Kitten. And it annoys other players. Lolol.

Coupled with the funny graphics, especially from the NSFW deck, I hope it spreads into Malaysia.

Oh decks are not mine, borrowed and played with le boyfriend. :)

KAO MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask

12:00 PM

Hi!

Today's beauty product review is KAO MegRhythm Steam Eye Mask from Japan.

It claims to relieve fatigue and get rid of dark circles by using steam at a temperature of 40 degrees.

There are 14 pieces in each boxes and comes in 5 variants: Unscented, Chamomile, Lavender, Rose and Ripe Yuzu.

I bought the Lavender variant to try out.

Info from Hermo

Usage is 10 minutes.

Cautions from Hermo:

1. Do not use if eye irritation or other eye diseases. Do not use this product with eye drops.
2. Please remove contact lenses before use.
3. Please remove eye makeup before use.
4. This product temporarily relieves eye fatigue. Do not wear for a long time.
5. Do not use with other goggles.

The individual packet

The eye mask has two sides, one is purple while the other is white.

Helpful ear holes so you can do it while sitting down.

Apply the white side of the eye mask onto the eyes, make sure to close them and adjust to fit the eye area.

My experience:

There was a lavender smell, not powerful but enough to notice. The eye mask material feels like cotton and the two heating patches started feeling warm after I took it out from the packet. After adjusting it to my eyes area, I felt the heat slowly increasing in the first 3 minutes. As the time passes, it was soothing as the steam envelopes my eyes.

After 10 minutes and removing the eye mask, my eyes felt less tired. Not sure if relax is the right word to use for eyes... Lol.

With the haze making eyes irritated, tired and dry, this steam eye masks do help. The heat doesn't make the eyes dry so don't worry. Instead, it does relieve fatigue as claimed. But my dark eye circles show no improvement.

However, if you want to lie down or take a 10 minute nap, this is a good choice to pamper your eyes.

You can buy it from Hermo.

Thanks for reading,

Bye!
